All the Courts regard the Morrowen and their Hive Queens with instinctive suspicion, even the Court of Spring, their rightful liege. Joining the Hive means surrendering individuality and personal will, a decision never taken lightly. Yet the strange comfort of the collective mind draws in those overwhelmed by grief, loneliness, or boredom, as well as those tempted by the promise of a perfectly equal society. Within the Hive’s embrace, doubt fades away, replaced by an absolute sense of belonging that eclipses fear and reason alike.
