Waffen-ss 8.8cm Flak 37

Originally developed as an anti-aircraft gun, the 8.8cm Flak 37—nicknamed the “Eighty-eight” by Allied troops—quickly earned a fearsome reputation as one of the most effective anti-tank weapons of World War II. Its high muzzle velocity allowed it to penetrate virtually any Allied armor, while also serving as a capable conventional artillery piece. As one German infantryman said, the 88 was “anti-everything.”
