Father Cesta the fanatic marks the arrival of a new dark era in Venice as he continues his great mystical work. Master of obscure theurgy, he teaches priests how to summon elemental and divine spirits to serve the Church’s will. These practices have unleashed a terrifying presence within the city’s streets, where numerous wandering spirits appear under the control of the summoners. The priests who call them sometimes laugh maniacally while observing the spiritual entities they release, illustrating the fragile boundary between absolute faith and sacred madness.
