Valentine Ii Infantry Tank
· British Army Tanks & Vehicles
The Valentine tank was a dependable and resilient vehicle, widely used by Commonwealth forces and the Soviet Red Army during World War II. First introduced in the Western Desert in 1940, it quickly earned a reputation for its durability and battlefield reliability. Although eventually replaced by the Churchill and Sherman tanks on the Western Front, the Valentine continued to see service in other regions, including the Far East with New Zealand forces, and in large numbers on the Eastern Front, where Soviet crews appreciated its comfort and toughness.
