Teutonic Knights (Ordensstaat)

Founded in 1190 during the Siege of Acre, the Teutonic Knights began as a hospital established by German merchants to care for German pilgrims in the Holy Land. Over time, the order evolved into one of medieval Europe's most influential military brotherhoods, renowned for its campaigns during the Crusades and the establishment of the Ordensstaat in Eastern Europe.
