Luftwaffe Field Division Squad

Following the initial spectacular success of the German invasion of Russia in 1941, the advance slowed to a crawl as harsh weather and fierce fighting wore down their formations. To reinforce the front, seven regiments were formed from non-flying personnel taken from the Luftwaffe. Equipped with standard infantry weapons, these troops were sent to quieter sectors to gain combat experience.
