Originally titled The Warriors, the movie underwent a major shift during production, shedding its darker tone and romantic subplot for a more action-driven, farcical approach. While some cast and crew lamented the change, the enduring popularity of the final film and its endlessly quotable lines are proof enough that the final cut struck cinematic gold.
