German Infantry (winter)

German troops were deployed across all kinds of battlefields during World War II, from sun-scorched deserts to snow-covered forests. Nowhere were conditions harsher than during the freezing winters on the Eastern Front or the rugged mountains of Italy. Facing the elements with limited winter gear, German soldiers relied on their standard-issue greatcoats and sheer determination to continue the fight.
