Gebirgsjager Squad

The Gebirgsjäger were elite troops of the German army, specially trained to operate in mountainous regions and under harsh climate conditions. Their lineage dates back to the Alpenkorps of World War I, a specialized unit tasked with defending alpine passes against the Italian Alpini. Their symbol, the edelweiss flower, represented noble purity and was adopted in 1907 as a distinctive insignia worn on their caps and collars, eventually becoming the standard emblem of all mountain troops.
