French Hussars

Few units capture the flamboyance and colour of Napoleonic warfare quite like the French Hussars. Drawing inspiration from Turkish and later Hungarian cavalry traditions, these elite light horsemen became one of the most visually striking arms of the French army during the early nineteenth century.
