French Army Infantry

At the start of World War II, the French army was one of the most powerful in the world. Well-equipped with excellent tanks and effective artillery, its infantry divisions were numerous and confident, ready to fight off the hated enemy as they had twenty-two years earlier. However, this war was different, and French infantrymen often faced German armored units that outmaneuvered them during the Blitzkrieg across Europe.
