Centurion Mk Iii Heavy Tank

The Centurion Mk III represents a major leap in British armoured vehicle development. Originally designed as a Cruiser tank in 1943, its sloped armour and upgraded firepower quickly redefined it as an infantry support tank. With improvements in engine power, a modernized main gun, and a gun stabilizer, the Mk III quickly evolved into the United Kingdom’s main battle tank by the early 1950s.
