Carro Armato/semovente
· Italian Army Tanks
Produced by Fiat Ansaldo, the M13/40 served as the backbone of Italy’s armored forces during World War II, entering service in 1940. Though officially classified as a medium tank, its specifications were closer to those of light tanks used by other nations. It featured armor up to 42mm thick, a 47mm main gun, and up to four 8mm machine guns, operated by a four-man crew. Its diesel engine, while underpowered with a top speed of around 20mph, provided greater range and was less prone to catching fire than gasoline-powered alternatives.
